Just jumping in to remind everyone that it’s crunch time. Two days left to complete those last-minute Christmas preparations. No pressure…you’ve got this! As long as the liquor cabinet is fully stocked & you’ve got the mandatory Christmas cuisine, it’ll all be fine. Here in STL, we’re ready as we’ll ever be for the impending festivities. Not sure what it’ll look like so we’re just kind of winging it.
In the meantime, Jack’s treatment continues. The 1st round of chemo is behind us. We saw a few side effects, but all were manageable. Today, Jack had his 4th lumbar puncture. On the bright side, his platelets were in the normal range, so he didn’t require multiple infusions this time. However, this one was scheduled at 7 AM (my child is not a morning person) & was “less pleasant” than the previous procedures. He reports that it felt like they shoved “a shit ton” (high-level medical term) of chemo into his lower back. He’s not giving this LP 5-stars on Yelp! So, what’s next, you ask? Good question. We know he has chemo scheduled on Christmas & none on the books after that. Sounds as if what happens next depends on how his labs look. Happily, they’ve looked a bit better lately but continue to fall in the “needs improvement” category. So, we continue to be patient to the best of our abilities and hopeful that those healthy white blood cells get busy procreating. As always, thanks to everyone in our “village” for the love & support. Keep the prayers & positive energy coming! AND get your shit together, people…it’s almost Christmas, and you’re way behind!!! (Again, no pressure 🙄). Love you all!
Meg, Rich & Jack
