January 1, 2024

Happy New Year! Hope the 1st day of 2024 finds everyone healthy, happy & only slightly hungover. I feel great! I’m writing this from our breakfast bar after sleeping in my own bed. This is my first full day home since 11/26. The only thing that would make it better is having Jack home, too. That was originally the plan, but the logistics of getting his medication shipped over a holiday delayed his discharge until Wednesday. Rich & I were bummed but Jack took it in stride. To quote my very zen child, “What’s two more days?”. So, I came back with Rich to acquire a vehicle & will head back to STL tomorrow. If all goes as planned, we should be discharged around noon & heading home soon after. We’re here until Friday, when we return to STL for bloodwork & his 1st outpatient appointment with Dr. Abboud. So fingers crossed, this goes as planned. If not, I’ll remind myself that it’s a marathon, not a sprint & reach deep to find a bit of that zen Jack displays. I’m sure it’s in there somewhere…

  3. Answered prayers! I am so happy for all of you!! I have no idea where Jack gets that zenness? from. I can’t imagine that’s a Randle trait. The pups are going to be so happy to see him!
