The much awaited homecoming is here! SO glad to have our boy back home!! He’s a tiny bit worse for wear. He’s 20 lbs. lighter (at least 5 of that was hair!), has a few bumps & and bruises, and is definitely over being poked & prodded. He’s looking forward to a couple of days off from the hospital life before we head back to STL for labs & his first appointment. The agenda for tomorrow & Thursday is to rest, pet dogs , pet cats, rest, pet chickens (maybe?), game online, recuperate, and eat the 50 lbs. of snacks he accrued at BJC (thank you generous friends!).

And speaking of thank you, we continue to be overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of thoughts, prayers, love & positive energy we’ve received! We credit his progress not only to the incredible medical care he’s gotten at BJC but also to the love & support you all have provided. We know it’s helped Jack’s recovery, and we can’t imagine how we’d have coped without you all lifting us up. Your support has been unwavering, and we just can’t thank you enough. You’re an amazing crew & we’re blessed to have you in our lives! Love you all…

  2. Such excellent Happy New Year news about the almost-birthday young man and his loving, supportive family. Terrific picture, too. Thank you so much for sharing all the updates and for taking such good care of him, not to mention all those dogs and chickens and, I guess I have to say it, the cats, too.
