Hey friends, wanted to give you an update. As most of you know, we came back to STL on Tuesday for another round of chemotherapy. We checked in around 3:30 pm & treatment started at 3:31! He had labs & an EKG almost immediately. Wednesday was chemo with a simultaneous lumbar puncture/ IT chemo. Initially, his only side effect was fatigue. Chemo then invited all the fun GI issues to the party. Thursday was more chemo & more side effects. Later in the day, he started running a temp & was tested for the usual suspects with all negative results. We learned that he’d been tentatively scheduled for discharge today, but with the ongoing elevated temp, it appears we’ll be here till Monday. Once he’s discharged, we’ll go to Siteman for an injection that’s given on an outpatient basis. After that’s complete, we can hit the road. At this moment, they’ve added IV antibiotics as a precaution & his fever is staying down. We’re hoping it stays that way. Additionally, he’s finishing up the last of his IV chemotherapy today. Please feel free to keep your fingers, eyes, toes, legs, etc. crossed that we get to escape ASAP. We’re ready for a few weeks at home! Thanks!!!
